Recent analyses have indicated a rising share of Europeans participating in the sharing economy (Eurobarometer, 2016). However, few studies have delved deeply into the distinctions between those participating in the sharing economy and those abstaining. Also, little is known about the distinctions between those participating in either a provider or a consumer capacity. This report will provide empirical findings on participation and non-participation in the European sharing economy based on a large-scale survey of citizens in twelve European countries.en
