Abstract
This is a quantitative study that explores the relationship between procedural justice and organizational citizenship behavior, and whether the proposed relationship is mediated by the three psychological needs in self-determination theory: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. The findings support our main hypothesis, demonstrating that procedural justice has a significant relationship with organizational citizenship behavior. Furthermore, the study reveals that both autonomy and relatedness play a mediating role in these relationships. Interestingly, we found that the need for competence does not mediate this relationship. Moreover, our ambitions are for organizations to get a better understanding of the importance of procedural justice in the organizational context, and to promote justice in the workplace.
